Hi I’m Drake Ives.
I graduated from Wilson Hall in 2018 and am currently a junior at Wofford College. I played softball for 10+ years, and I have coached individual pitching, catching, hitting, and fielding lessons with 40+ girls.
I wasn’t fast, so I learned to hit home runs. I was a catcher without a pitcher, so I learned to pitch. I didn’t know how to pitch, but I learned how to strike batters out. I really enjoyed winning, so I stopped being a loser.
My greatest strength was my mental approach. I knew my competition well, I strategically prepared, and I intentionally visualized my outcome, until it became true— time and time again. I am passionate about coaching kids to become true winners, on and off the field.

“Winners travel losers stay home.”

We’re all here to win, but winning doesn’t make you a winner.
I believe that winner isn't determined by the number on a scoreboard or by the name on a jersey. It takes something special to be a winner; their presence is evident, yet their minds remain future-oriented. Winners have an alternative perspective, which leaves ordinary people wondering why and how they do what they do. I am passionate about coaching youung athletes how become a true winner— on and off the field.

I’m probably teaching somebody else to strike you out, so you should get to work. See you soon-
